Patricia Chiuariu

Romanian born Patricia Chiuariu makes contemporary jewellery in Naarm. Patricia deconstructs and modernises Balkan folk designs, and applies aspects of their shapes, colours and textures to jewellery. She is inspired by memories of her grandmother crocheting shirts with folk patterns. Her grandmother taught her that the patterns that appeared on folk clothing, jewellery and headwear had meaning and were worn as a means of displaying pride.

Just as stars have led many stray adventurers back to safety, the ‘She’s a star’ collection is designed to light the way and help the wearer find comfort and safety in their own power; stand proud and be striking.
